CASE STUDIES
WHITING REFINERY
The Challenge
The Whiting Refinery underwent a massive expansion, increasing the need for contingent labor by over 200 workers. Ongoing project cost and economic pressures added additional cost awareness to the project delivery plan.
Our Solution
Through our managed solution, we were able to transform compliance and cost concerns into a fully compliant on boarding process for all suppliers and contingent workers. This was completed with zero disruption to the business and created a streamlined requisition process. We also improved the technical fill rate by 28%.
Results
We delivered $1.4 million in initial cost savings through industry salary benchmarking, and an additional $4 million in ongoing savings over the next few years. Our program’s supplier safety efforts led us to achieve the Safety Recognition Award for safety performance in 2012. We also maintained a consistent net promoter score of 94%.
YAMAL LNG, RUSSIA
The Challenge
An energy/LNG producer in Russia was required to source 400 skilled workers in 20 locations. Their primary challenges included strict budget constraints, volume sourcing of local workers in remote locations and a short time frame.
Our Solution
Singular designed a tailored RPO solution that included two specialist recruitment teams: one based internally with the client handling face-to-face engagement and the other in our central team responsible for the logistical management of a countrywide roadshow and advertising campaign. The key components of the RPO including building a realistic workforce plan, a uniquely designed sourcing matrix and the delivery of assessment.
Results
All 400 hires were delivered on time and below the strict client budget. Singular utilized a full range of sourcing techniques and achieved a 40-day time to hire, which was significantly below client expectation for the remote locations.
